I Hate Picture Books is a delight! It successfully captures the joys of growing up while still firmly recognizing the pleasures of the past. Seeing old friends in the form of childhood books is special. This book touches both children and parents who treasure reading. Funny thing is I have saved many of those books....hoping sometime in the future I'll be reading them to grandchildren. The illustrations are spot on and the concept precious.

This is a great book for kids, TEACHERS and parents! I LOVE the idea of the book with the illustrations being very expressive. I also enjoy all the great books that are embedded in the book as images! I loved looking through the illustrations for books I have read or read to my kids or students. This is a nice book. It deals with a child getting to wanting to read "older" books when in reality that picture book is something that can stay with us forever! The images of books that are known by many make this a multidimensional book

This is a must read book for anyone who works with kids, reads to kids, or just remembers what it was like to be enchanted with a story. The novel flips through the story of a young boy who claims to hate picturebooks because of how they have misled him in life, and the ending is as charming as you would expect. Throughout the book I smiled as I realized which books he was referring to, and remembered my own memories of discovering the tales. I am definitely ordering this one for my library.
